Wish that it performed better.
I purchased this chair online for our recent Jersey Shore vacation. I own several Tommy Bahama beach chairs and have loved them, though they are the lower style makes it hard for me to get in and out of. I chose this particular chair as it sit higher than most other options making it easier to enter and exit it on the beach. I also like the protection the shade offered. While the chair is attractive and comfortable to sit in it has two major drawbacks that would deter me from purchasing another.
1. Because of its size, is it difficult carry. The strap does not allow for comfortable positioning on the back, especially when you are traversing sand dunes and big stretches of beach. Also it does not completely secure the chair in a closed positon making it awkward to carry. After awhile it caused sore spots on my back. It would have been nice to have two padded straps like the smaller beach chairs have, but it appeares that the size of the chair coupled with the shade make that impossible.
2. While the sun shade provided good cover on sunny days and held up well to the winds, it was difficult to put up and down after the first day. It took several minutes of playing with the plastic guides on each side in order to achieve the desired position. All the manipulation created stress lines in the plastic guides so I expect that the will eventually fail with future use.
I am also disappointed that the chair did not have an insulated pouch on the back like the some of the smaller models have. It is great to put a sandwich and cold drink in there.
Wish that it performed better. It just did not seem to hold up to the Tommy Bahama standard that I have come to expect.

Love the beach
Worst chair ever. Looks attractivr ,Super Heavy and fell apart after used 3-4 times. All the screws came apart at the same time while sitting in it. Don't wast your money on this one.

Not great quality
I own two of these chairs. The screws continue to need replacing as they fall out. I've done a few repairs which last only one or two uses. Disappointed in the lack of quality. Additionally, after one season, the Shade arms no longer extend upwards just past mid point. They appear to be locked. Almost unusable as is.

A problem since day one
We bought this chair for my mom last summer for her birthday and have trouble with it since. They screws in the arm constantly fall out and the chair's arms which makes the whole chair fall backwards. My husband has replaced the screws multiple times. Yesterday my mom fell backwards out of the chair when the screws in the arm fell out. Not only is that super embarrassing but she also hurt her back. This is not a cheap chair and should not be having these issues. We purchased this chair because it's high and easier for her to get in and out of but it's not safe. Do not buy this chair.

A Relaxing Beach day easier with this chair.
We purchased multiple chairs when they were the shorter (closer to the ground) version and found that it was difficult to get out of the chair. Also, they started to wear quickly, and we already tossed one out. I purchased three of these, and like them much better than the previous shorter version. It is much easier to get out of these chairs, being taller (farther off the ground). I am fair complected, and the shade is wonderful! I can sit the chair with its back to the sun, and receive almost complete shade. Instead of putting up the tent for shade, we just need these chairs lightening the load to the beach. The pouch in the shade is great for cell phones, keys, and other items you do not wish to get sand on. If you position the cell phone with the screen facing down, you will also see all of your alerts, in case you need to respond to something. The side pouch could be a little easier to use, and have room for a beverage. As it is, you have to push the beverage container into the pouch and can be a little cumbersome. I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 only because of the cost, and the history of the previous chairs not lasting as long under normal use as I would anticipate for an item for which you pay a hefty price. I will amend and give the 5th star if these hold up longer.
